Chess Club
Grades: K - 6th (Ages: 5 - 12) Co-ed
Learn chess with Magnus Academy (formerly Silver Knights), 5x world champion Magnus Carlsen’s academy! We’ve taught 100,000 children to play including state & national champions, but most students are beginners looking to learn a new skill and have FUN. Class time is divided between lessons and practice games. Lessons range from the basic rules to advanced tournament strategies.
Students will have the opportunity to play in tournaments (in-person and online) outside of club time. This in-person club includes free online extras including a ChessKid Gold Membership, weekly practice tournaments and an event with world champion Magnus Carlsen or Judit Polgar, the best female chess player of all time. All chess supplies provided. All skill levels are welcome.

About Magnus Chess Academy
Magnus Chess Academy (formerly Silver Knights), was started by a pair of brothers who grew up loving chess and wanted to share their enthusiasm with kids. In 2021 we partnered with 5-time World Champion Magnus Carlsen to grow the game! After more than 10 years and over 100,000 students at hundreds of schools, we're on our way! We'd be excited to have your child join our after school programs, camps, tournaments, or online academy!
Currently serving schools all over Maryland, DC, and Northern Virginia.
Refund Policy
We think that your child will love our clubs. If for whatever reason she/he doesn't want to continue in the club, we'll process a refund for the remaining days, minus a $20 administrative fee. No refunds will given after 50% of the classes have been completed.
