After-School Chess with C&O Family Chess

Grades: K - 5th (Ages: 5 - 11) Co-ed

This class is for all levels of students from New Players (just learning the Pieces) to advanced students who have previous experience and may have even played in organized competition. Students will receive daily instruction and an opportunity to play with other classmates. We will provide information and a location for practice outside of class including access to weekly tournaments outside of class time. Our main focus is for the kids to have fun while learning a new skill. We have a strong emphasis on sportsmanship and healthy competition and a sense of teamwork while we work towards self improvement.

Additional Notes

Minimum - 10

We use a platform called chess.com to practice outside of class and do some instruction. If they don’t already have one, please create your student their own "Chess.com" account and connect with Coach Omar and Coach Ross on it.  There is a video tutorial on "chesscenter.net" under the "links, etc." tab which covers "How to Create a Chess.com account". After creating the account we will adjust their settings to best facilitate use.
