Chinese Beginner B

Grades: 2nd - 5th (Ages: 7 - 12) Co-ed

Join us as we continue to explore the Chinese language and culture in a fun, informal, immersion setting. Favorite new topics include the Lunar New Year, sports and activities we like, telling time, farm animals, pets, prepositions, counting to 100, breakfast foods, and more! Workbooks and hands-on activities like brush painting and paper folding encourage practical use of the language and expose children to aspects of Chinese culture.

Native Chinese speakers teach our classes and each session includes different topics and themes with hands-on activities and a workbook to encourage practical use of the language and strengthen early literacy skills.

Beginner Level is a full-year program offered in one or more sessions over the course of the school year. We encourage children to participate for a full year of Chinese, but a child may join for just one session. Beginner B is appropriate for new and continuing beginners.

Additional Notes

Minimum 8, Maximum 12 students

On the first day of class, children will receive a Chinese Beginner workbook in a pocket folder, which they will bring to class with them each week. We encourage parents to review their children’s workbooks with them after every lesson and ask them to share what they are learning. Children may need reminders to bring their workbooks to Chinese class each week.
